if you have a big interest of music and its industry, you may come to
this event. this Tuesday I attended a seminar called Music Industry
Seminar: "Exploring Label Inside Out" and "Becoming A Concert Promoter".
Every title was for every session. I just participated the first
session which had Eko Yudhiyanto (Organic Records) and Angga Puradiredja
(Maliq & D'Essentials' vocalist) as speaker, because there's a
class at 2 pm. this event was held at Auditorium of FEUI (Faculty of
Economics University of Indonesia), Tuesday, 22nd November, 2011.
Mas Eko also brought his artist (from Organic Records) like Djemima, Goodnight Electric (just a member, I forgot his name), and Sir Dandy. He told us to be brave to make an indie label by comparing the value with major label. all aspects we need to know, prepare, prevent, and we should do were elaborated here. after Mas Eko, Angga shared his experiences from the beginning he created Maliq & D'Essentials, albums, shows, their label, and how he got idea to establish Organic Records. almost forgot to tell you the moderator, it was Armanda Geraldy. we follow each other on Twitter but he doesn't know me :p . at the end of this session, Sir Dandy sang two songs by playing acoustic guitar.
I'd love to come the second session which had Peter F. Gontha (the man behind Java Rocking Land, Java Jazz, and Java Soulnation) as speaker but I didn't want to come late for my class. maybe next year I able to participate all sessions of this event :)
